The only thing that matters, is the tank water quality in terms of toxic nitrogen compounds content in it. Excessive amount of the latter is not lethal for the fish, but it is highly unwanted. Filtration If you want to prevent fungal growth in the tank, you can add cherry shrimps in the tank to help clean the eggs.
